Default Thud, Thud, Thud. Can someone explain the noise?

My mom's Honda Pilot SUV has been making this "thud" noise near the right front wheel everytime she puts the brakes on lately. I know this is really vague but does anyone know what the possible causes for this are? The car sits outside so it has a little bit of rust (it's an '04) on the calipers if that helps at all.

Could be a caliper that's not keeping the pads tight, loose bolt on the caliper, worn suspension part, etc.

brakes sticking and the ABS kicking on (if it has it) maybe?? pop off the wheel and check out the components in the system. check for sticking when rotating the hub assembly.

that's the one thing that ford sucks for....brakes.... most trucks, suv's the front caliper pins need to be put in backwards. take them out and tap them back in lightly with a hammer.

If I change the front pads without having the
rotors resurfaced it is because the rotor is
not level.
Another reason for thumping when the
brakes are applied is a cracked rotor.
check it out.
