Help on changing a bulb in the rear housing!
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I'm trying to change the rear bulb (for signaling and braking) on my 2000 Mustang. Usually, after you remove the padding, you can see the direct plug-ins to the light. However on the Mustang, it seems that I have to remove the whole rear housing just to change a bulb? Can someone tell me if this is correct? Thank you

There are at least four, and maybe five. A deep 1/4" drive socket, 10mm I believe, is all you need. Be careful to not overtighten the nuts when you reinstall the tail light assembly because the mounting studs can crack the plastic housing relatively easily.

Yes, there's one plastic push pin that holds it in along the top edge. Once that is out pull it down over the stud and it can then be moved out of the way from where you need to get to. I've had mine out several times and it does get much easier after about the third time.
