Hi, I have a 1988 mustang gt an was recently in an accident and the whole front of my car was ruined. I recently had it repaired and for some reason my mechanic cant get the car to start when turning the key. he can only start it with a screwdriver and touching allinoid (i cant spell it) has anyone had this problem or does anyone know what it might be?

sounds like a starter solenoid.....tell him to get a new one

yea thats what it is a starter solenoid he says he uses a screwdriver touches that and it starts right up could it be somethign else and how much do starter solenoid go for?

could be other things but a solenoid goes for about 10 bucks

if solonoind was bad it would work when he jumped it
