I have the dash board pretty much out ,changing my heater core,and I noticed that I can change gears without pushing the clutch .

Did I unplug something or mess something up ? It didnt do this before I started messing with the heater core replacement.

Its a 97GT.

if the engine is off thats normal, in fact i can pull it out of gear while going down the road if i feel like it (really easy in 5th...not so much 1st-3rd)

Yes,while its off. I have the battery disconnected ,so I cant start it . I took the shifter handle off,so I could pull the dash out ,thats when I noticed it moving without the clutch.


So thats normal when its off ? I cant believe Ive never noticed that .

Yea, you broke the tranny, and the clutch. I bet engine is dying too. You have to sell it cheap now.
