I had to replace my 8.8 a while back do to the same problem... it was chattering when cornering to the left... took it apart and found all of the internals (gears and all) chewed to heck... lucky the axels where still good and for about 700 dollars, I got a new 8.8 to throw them in... I would recommend going that route unless you know a really good and cheap shop to bring your car to. I have seen a lot of shops mess up when trying to fix problems in the rear differential (my two cents worth)…
the noise sounds like its comming from the left brear wheel area, when i give some throttle or let off the throttle i hear it,when i get it inbetween it stops, any ideas? thanks russ
