Default Convertible top replacement cost

Anybody had their top replaced? If so what is a ball park figure for having it done? I'd like to have some recommendations for a local shop, but having trouble finding someone who knows. Any gotchas to look for when your shopping? Is there a better "brand" of top? Better material? I've decided I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it, now I need some info. I can't find a lot of things on the internet about top replacement though.

TIA!!

The price for my 84' GT was $1300 for everything. I would'nt think that theres to much difference between years.Thats Michigan though.

Good luck and damn do they look good with a new top.

Oh, and by the way.
When you replace the top,ask for the glass window and not the plastic.Much better.

5 year top is a good one!!?? Good grief!! The top I have now is 10 years old! Does that mean a new top every 5 years? I found a top that was guaranteed for life for ~$500. Just have to have it installed. Wonder what that would cost?

Do you have to replace the glass when you replace the top or can they reuse the glass I have?

$1300 for a new top sound about right, I had to redo mine on my 93 Lx, they did a good job, The aftermarket materials are way better. Plus Up on the westcoast of Canada alot of rain, Just choose a good quality top it should Last you for a long time.

Good Luck
