Default Guys with 4.30's, a little help please ?

OK guys, I need a little input.

I'm on my second set of 4.30 gears. I put the first set in and set the pattern up myself - Ford motorsport gears because I heard they were the quietest. They didn't seem quite to me, so I took the car to most highly respected shop in the area - they checked my pattern, said it was perfect, but if we wanted we could swap in a new set and see if that made it better.

I said what the hell - do it (the noise is driving me crazy). They set it up as well - really particular about the pattern. New bearings all around.

Sumbitch is still noisy. Not like a when you have the pattern off (been there, that is crazy noisy - there on accel or decel, one but not the other), but always there at a level I don't like.

My question is this - are 4.30's just inherently noisy, or does anyone have them dead quiet. If yours are dead quiet, what brand are they ?

Thanks in advance

Tim

with the exception of gears that have straight teeth, there should be no whine unless they are installed incorrectly

Why not? I know plenty of people on the boards with 4.30 and plenty of people who want them. If I didnt do 15+ hour drives 5 times a year i would get 4.30s also.

exactly my point....i don't understand why you would want them if your car is a daily driver.

LOL! You're talking like your 4.10s and their 4.30s are a night and day difference!

not necessarily huge....but there is a difference, I was asking merely to hear an opinion, i don't hear of near as many people buying 4:30's for a car that daily driven

actually if he has the t3650, 5th gear is a complete dog at .62, so i would do 4.30s without hesitation
