Rear Left wheel seems to clunk and lock up
Hey, im new to the forums and am having trouble with my stang.
When turning, seems more predominant when turning left, the car tends to make a cluncking noise, its a one time thing, its not constant but sporadic, i i amintain a left turn going at an idle speed it will clunk about every 5 to 10 seconds, the clunk noise can be felt all over the car as it makes it shake a little bit. I inspected the wheel to see if it had any play to it (to determine if the wheel bearing was bad) but everything seemed alright. When reversing, with the wheel all the way to the left the rear-left wheel locks up and its as if i am dragging it, and when its idle it doesnt move at all when the wheel locks. Now recently I hit a pothole extremely hard that ruined my alignment. I looked under the car to see if there was any visible signs of something bent or interfering with the axle and nothing seems to be it, i was hoping it was just a bent exhaust pipe, unfortunaely that doesnt seem to be it.
2002 V6 Mustang, stock everything, 106K miles, automatic transmission.
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance. If you need any more information to diagnose, please ask.

sounds like your going to have to have that looked at, it could be anything from a ruptured brake piston (there grating marks in your disc?) all the way down to a axle or differential...doesnt look too cheap to me

It can possibly just be a partly frozen caliper on one of your rear brakes. It would have a tendency to lock up when braking and only partially opening up when off the brake. It would basically be dragging on your rotor. I would have a brake specialist take a look at all four wheels.
Forgot to mention it could also be something as stupid as a stuck or frozen emergency brake. The cable may not be fully releasing when you take the brake off. Pull up on the parking brake handle with your foot pressing firmly on the brake pedal. Next slightly pull up again with the button depressed to release the brake back all the way down again. Repeat this action 2 or 3 times to free the rear emegency brakes from gripping your rear rotors. Sometimes this works wonders. Mine stuck the other day while I was backing out of my driveway. When I put on the brakes I heard a stange noise and when I put it in drive it clunked and squeeled a bit. I did the little parking brake fandango and it has never come back again.

i considered thedifferential at first, but then i got to realize that some of the problems should also appear on the right rear-wheel if this was the problem, and its isolated to rear-left. I drove the stang today to see if i can see anything, i tried the brake thing, and no fly, but that you either way. I havent checked the caliper itself but i dont think that can be it, because tried turning with the e-brake on and it still did it. The only way that it wont do it is if im turning while in neutral. The problem only occurs when turnin left, at the very least its only noticable. For those people that are suggesting the brakes, im not sure if i mentioned that when the car is going straight the problem does not occur at all. Thanks for everyone who has posted, i really do appreciate it, this coming from a very broke (monetary and physically) Mustang owner.
