Need guidance
 

OK, here is what I have. 1989 Mustang LX hatchback body.

Whats Missing: Engine, tranny, 20-30% under hood wiring and hoses, radiator, power booster, master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, front seats, exhaust pipes

What needs replaced: brakes (all the way around), rear end (need an 8.8"), front bumber, rest of wiring and hoses, interior carpet, RF 1/4 panel, A/C condensor, headlights, taillights, hood

What needs fixing: Steering column, dash

What I need is what websites to look at to find what I need to get this car going.

I am looking for decent parts at a decent price, so I don't want to be spending more than I have to. Any info anyone could give me would really be appreciated.

lucky you its a mustang and all of that is easily replacable. first off the clutch uses a cable , its not hydrolic so there is no slave cylinder. some really good resources for resto parts are www.50resto.com they are kind of expensice but sometimes they can suprise you. also www.mustangsunlimted.com they have some good prices as well as fast delivery. for things like alternators and master cylinders...you know stuff like that sometimes your local car parts store is the best bet and the easiest to get your stuff from without having to wait hope i was helpful

Hey, thanks a bunch. I have already checked out 50resto.com, and gotten a BUNCH of prices. They seem halfway reasonable.

As far as local parts stores, I am in GREAT shape there. I work at Checker Auto Parts here in Phoenix, where I get a 25% discount on all my parts. Also, are there certain things I should stay away from in a junkyard? I am looking at getting what I can from there, to help save more money. Here is what I am thinking about getting from the yards.

Right Front fender, as much wiring as possible (as long as its not cut), rear end

Generally, what kind of prices am I looking at? People on my Cougar forums tell me over $10k. I don't see that at all.

for a restoration job like that on a budget, you need to go to www.stangparts.com this is a big Mustang parts only salvage yard in Winder, GA and they can probably find and sell you anything and everything you need to put this Stang back together for much less than new part prices. check them out soon!
