Lowering a 95 vert GT w/ 18's
Hello,
Just wondering how much of a job is it to lower a 1995 stang gt vert. I put 18 inch chrome wheels on it and sits way, way, way tooooooo high. I can order the springs for the 2inch drop and put them on myself. Is there anything else i need to worry about, such as new shocks, ect? Somebody mentioned "caster camber" plates? Not sure what they are but do I need them? I dont have a body kit or anything, just cobra front bumper cover and stalker hood. Thanks, T. J. I have a 1998GT w/ 18" chrome bullitts. I got MD's steeda sport springs (about 1.5" drop) and all I need is an alignment.
anything 2" or lower you should probably get the caster camber plates. Just go w/ the steedas and you'll be fine. P.S. No rubbing issues here |
RE: Lowering a 95 vert GT w/ 18's
Any lowering of a mustang will throw the front end geometry off. Caster/Camber plates are a very very good investment with lowering no matter how small. If you wanna do it right look into somthing like this :
Eibach Pro-Kit or Eibach Sportline Steeda X2 balljoints and Bumpsteer kit (Steeda sells them both together) Steeda Caster Camber Plates You dont have to have the C/C plates for a 1.5" drop but your alignment will never be dead on. If you put all the above stuff on your vehicle, alignment will not be an issue and your handling/steering response will be amazing. Im one to spend the extra dollar and do it the best way possible. |

Hello,
Thanks for the quick replys. Just wondering now- ebay has some springs that will apparently lower your stang 2inches front and back for around 75 plus shipping. Not too bad, but has anybody used them? Also, is there a difference between springs for normal Gt's and GT convertibles? These steeda springs, is there anything cheaper than $200. If so, what website can i find them at? Thanks, T. J. |

I believe 'Verts sit even higher than GT's.
