RE: max compression for 93 octane
I don't know about on a 351 persay, but I know of several guys running upwards of 12.5:1 on their honda motors on pump gas.
anything over 13:1 would need race fuel. |
RE: max compression for 93 octane
I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything more than 10.5 to 1

RE: max compression for 93 octane
here in cali alls we's gets out the pump is 91 and its good for 10.5 ta 1 so ide say 93 is good for atleast 10.5.

RE: max compression for 93 octane
you can build a 351 to run on somewhat high compression and pump gas, but you need the advice of a pro engine builder to pick the right combination of internal parts to make it all work correctly without fear of detonation on pump gas. I think about 10.5:1 like MD already said is about as far as you can go and be safe, but it easy to get the wrong combination, so get some pro advice. You might try talking to www.coasthigh.com or www.dssracing.com to see what they would recommend.

RE: max compression for 93 octane
well the hondas can as they have knock sensors to cut timing out of each cyl..his ford can not do this ..so the 10.0-10.5-1 would be about it..why worry about going any more?.. the lil hp you get from it with all the hassle isn't worth it
