Traps

I have an issue with my wipers - they look like they sit correct on the winsheild, but wont wipe. I have tried the ExactFit and the Rain-X brands, with no luck. I am going to try the Bosch Icons, but if anyone has had this issue and knows a solution, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Do you mean that when you use your wipers it seems to miss a spot? Has your windshield been replaced if so they could have put a cheap one in and there are some low spots in the glass

Yes, the wipers miss about 95% of their path. BOTH wipers. I just bought the car, so I am in correspondence with the seller to find out about the history on the winsheild.

Maybe the springs in the wiper arms are shot.. If you push down on the arms while they're moving, do they do a good job then? You can get replacement wiper springs if that's what is needed.

They could be bent outward, or being held up by the little clip that holds 'em up for cleaning the windshield. Check the latter first, then you can bend (slightly) the arms to add a bit of pressure toward the windshield. It's a backyard fix for weak springs, but it works.
