Default Keep popping Fuse #5

Okay, so I've had my '99 for a week and a half.

After a slight mishap with the parking brake, I discovered that half the idiot lights at the bottom of the instrument cluster weren't working.

Looked it up, fuse #5 was popped, replaced it, lo and behold everything works.

Until last night. It worked when I started the car, and somewhere in the stops we made last night, it blew again.

I've got more fuses- what I'd like to know is why they keep popping. When it's dead the dash works - it just takes 10 seconds for the dials to power up after you start it, and of course the right side idiot lights don't come on. At all.

Has anybody had this happen before?
If so, what did the problem end up being, or am I just going to have to keep a big ol' box of fuses at the ready?

Is there an aftermarket radiao in the car, or has there been one in it, there may be a short in the dash wiring feed to the radio maybe?

Sounds like youve got an electrical problem. Call up an electrical shop and ask how much theyd want to find this.

What I did find today that's interesting but maybe not necessarily related is that were were coins stuck in the aux power jack next to the parking brake. About 11 pennies and one coin that says something about Mexico...

HAHA...You don't know how many times I had to dig coins out of that power outlet on my '99. When you throw change in the cup holder, they tend to get in there now and then.

omg, they weren't even tossed in, they were very firmly pushed into place! I had to usea screwdriver to get the peso (or whatever it is) out, then out came penny...penny...penny...penny...penny....

So I'm just going to count it as a refund on what I paid for the car.
