Clutch adjustment

Clutch adjustment
Just had my 93 LX's T5 rebuilt.
Replaced the clutch too. It had a King Cobra and I replaced it with a clutch from our local shop. The K Cobra had 2400lbs base pressure and the new one is 2300lbs. BTW. The new one is way easier to push, not just 5% easier but like half the effort.
Onto the question. I have an aluminum quadrant and my cable is threaded down at the trans end. How tight should that cable be?

RE: Clutch adjustment
It should be fairly tight w/ your foot off the pedal. You don't want too much slack in it or the other end will come of the quadrant. I just pulled mine w/ my hands and then tightened it down w/ the locking nut using a wrench. If you don't have an adjustable cable, you might want to get a firewall adjuster or move the cable to a different hook on the quadrant.

RE: Clutch adjustment
Thanks GSP, That's pretty much where I have my adjustable cable now. Any looser and my clutch engages too close to the floor. Presently it engages about 2/3's the way up. Where does yours start to engage?
My fear is the throwout bearing preloaded against the pressure plate fingers will prematurely wear it out.
