is it more expensive for synchros? or clutch?
so i have a 1999 v6. and i was wondering which job is more expensive to do at a dealer. replacing the synchro's? or doing a complete clutch job?i am asking this because i basically have the choice to have either done at the shop free of charge.cuz they messed up.

alright, cuz see. what happened was the shop i took it to. they diagnosed a bad clutch, so they replaced it and charged me 900$. but that didn't fix anything. they tried adding some fluid, that made it better for a week or two. then i took it back in and now they think it's the synchros. so it's been in there for about a month or longer. i should get it back monday. they haven't said anything about chargin me for it tho. so i think ill just let it go if he doesn't charge me for the synchro job. i wont take him to court for charging for a misdiagnosis.

I don't get it... bad syncros or a bad clutch give 2 entirely different problems. What are your symptoms?
A bad clutch will slip badly when released, or chatter like crazy, etc,.. Bad synchros will cause your tranny to make grinding noises when changing gears. What is/were your original problem?
