I dont know about that van as a donar but you can set up cc on your car.
There is a booster under the drivers side fender that needs to be taken off of a donar car for yours, a second cable, the wheel with buttons, and the wires in the middle.
That is about all I know for it, I am trying to do the same for my wifes 96'. My 95' came with cc so I was able to backtrack from the tb to the wheel what mine has and hers doesnt. I havnt bought anything yet for the conversion except the wheel and buttons but the existing wiring in the steering colum supports CC so that wont have to be upgraded. If I remember correctly the fuse is a shared fuse and already in play.
Start collecting the items you need and when you think you have it all together then start putting it together and see what happens. I personally have not heard of anyone doing this but a Ford Dealer insisted that it could be done.

i dont think you caught the part where i said "i drive alot". i drive at least 100 miles a day for my dad. cruise control is one of the most useful options on a car. you should be fortunate that you have it. if you really dont use it, would you mind me using your car as the donor?
