Default 302 to 351 swap???

I have the chance to pick up a 351 out of a 85 F150 with about 80,000 original miles. The head gasket is blown, but I was thinking of taking the lower end, building it up a little, with a cam and lifter combo, and then using my 302 cobra heads and multiport intake off of my 86 302. I'm assuming that the blocks are basically the same, and the parts would transfer.

Would the 302 heads raise the compression ratio?

Would everything bolt up okay?

And, most important:

Would it be worth the work? If i gasket match, port and polish the intake/heads, and throw a cam/lifter package, would it be good to do?

Thanks for your helps and opinions!

sorry no can do..the 302 and 351 intakes are different..351 is about 1-1/2 inch wider than a 302...and the 351 uses a 1/2 head bolt...you can use the 302 heads on the 351 block but the head blot holes on the 302 heads will need to be drilled out to a 1/2 hole..if you have the cash just do a 347 motor...that way you can use your parts and intake and same exaust system..a 351 takes a special header..

5.0Mustang-

Will the upper intakes be the same? Could I just pick up a lower intake and still use the upper?

What has to be done for a 347? And what is special about the 351 headers?

Thanks for the help!

the upper from your 302 will bolt to the 351 lower...i think the 351 upper ..the tb(throttle body) is on the drivers side..not for sure on that and the mustang is on the passenger side...this swap requires the 351 swap headers cause tghe 351 in wider than a 302 and you have clearance problems ..thats why special sewap header are needed...and a 347 is a strocker motor...with a aftermarket crank -rods-pistons..it make a 302 into a 347 but you can use all the 302 parts...a decent 347 kit is about 1000.00 and a really nice kit like i have is around 2000.00 but it has forged every thing with h-mean rods...a 351 is nice but the swap headers are around 400.00 plus the motor..a 347 is not cheap..you would have to have machine work done and stuff..you probaly could do the 351 swap for a lot less than a 347
