RE: burnout question

A) What kind of car do you drive?

B) E-brakes lock your REAR wheels...

C) Only FWD cars use the e-brake to do "burnouts" and real muscle cars just use their brakes. And by burnouts I think you mean brakestands, where a car stays in the same place... You do this by applying just enough pressure on the brakes to keep the car from moving and press down on the gas, the wheels will start to spin..... Just hold it there...

RE: burnout question

Umm... I dunno, try it....

If you hold it for a lil bit it won't do anyhting, you'll hear your tires spinning.

I think pretty much any car can do it.... Your 00 V6 should be fine.

Yes they can. And if you have an automatic it is very easy to do. I do them just about everyday now since in getting new tires within the next few weeks.

RE: burnout question

really? thats cool since i may be getting new wheels too so its good to know ..

what is the effect on the brakes though, if any?

and now, since ive been told i can do it - even though i knowi shouldnt...- i need to ask this just in case my urge overtakes my will power....
could someone explain how to do it wth the v6 auto a little more specifically, so if i do try it i dont break something.. hehe :)

RE: burnout question

Ok, no problem....

Take your left foot and put it on the brake... Apply about 1/2 pressure....

Take your right foot and slowly press on the gas...

If you feel the car moving fowards, put more pressure on the brake.

Keep adding more and more gas until you hear the tires start spinning, then add a 'lil bit more and you're golden!

RE: burnout question

ok well if you try to power brake your car all you do (for me i do this atleast) is just start to burn out then hit your brakes really quick...don't do this to much because you can cause a glaze to go over your brakes...making it so your brakes don't grab...now for the question about can v6's do it...i have a 4 banger and i can defiently do it...my tires still have pretty good tread(SP) and i do it about once every week...just can't help it...well hope this helps
