How To Tell Build Date?? before or after 10/1987

i need to buy weatherstrip for my 88 convertible but its always got 2 different types. one set is from cars built before 10/87 and after 10/87. how will i tell when my car was built? does the vin say it? maybe a carfax....

if you vin tag on the end of the door is still readable it will provide the build date there for you

ah that sucks. i dont think mine is there. the car was a repaint! : (
