pulsating noise coming from clutch pedal...?
soo i have a 1999 v6 mustang, and i have noticed that my clutch pedal is pulsating. if you rest your foot on the pedal, it will actually almost bounce against your foot.but if i press it down just a little, the noise, and the pulsating dissappears. also, the rate of pulsating and the noise increases as RPM's increase. anyone have suggestions as to what the problem is? thanks for the help. erich.

RE: pulsating noise coming from clutch pedal...?
If you consider that when you depress the clutch
the first thing that happens is the clutch fork presses
against the throwout bearing, then the bearing contacts the
fingers of the clutch pressure plate which is revolving.
Sounds like your pedal is adjusted to minus free play
and the bearing is always rubbing.

If I adjust the Mustang to keep the bearing off the pressure plate. I have to press the pedal 2/3's of the way down to disengage the clutch.

well i had my clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, T.O. bearing, and tranny all replaced.. even the clutch pedal.Free of charge on the pedal. so i dont think it's the to bearing. unless maybe they didn't seat it right? idk. i wouldn't be surprised if they screwed up the install but total... it was only 1000$ at the dealer..for everything. labor included.

It is possible that ford may make their adjustment
so the bearing is constantly rubbing against the
clutch fingers. I am sure that the bearing is installed
correctly as it fits on the splines of the shaft.
It sounds more like the fingers are not aligned
100% causing the bearing to pulsate as the
motor is turning.
If you show the condition to the shop they would
probably have an explanation.
Good luck
