Default changed coil now car runs like $hit... Why?

I just took out my stock coil and put in an msd blaster 2 coil and did no other changes at all. I go out to race and when i do after like 3500 rpm the car starts to jerk and miss and backfire. What happend to my car? do i need to reset the timing now that my car is getting better spark? I got my *** handed to me in a racebeacuse of that . I was so excited cuz i just got my car tuned and it was runninreally goodwith the stock coil and i thought it would be better with the new one. Has anyone else had this problem from switching the coil?

you probally need to install a balist resister inline .Installing a msd coil buy itself is usless without a msd 6al box

Probably the wrong style of coil, capacitive or inductive. If you have a stock ignition, it probably won't work too well.
