Selling 96 gt for a 92 flareside, opinions plz
ok i found a 92 flareside for sale, the guy wants about 3500 for it, it has ford's 5.8L in it, it was recently rebuilt and now only has 3 miles on the engine, the guy drove it home, it was also bored 40 over, all the tie rods and prettymuch all the suspension was replaced. body is in excellent condition, but only under one condition will i be able to get this truck, if i get my car to sell. the truck has 120.000 miles on it, everything is immaculate though, ud have to c it. but will htis be a good trade? i need something to get through the winter, i already have another gt so i wouldn't have to worry about losing my pride and joy. lemme know your opinions guys

It's not a 5.8L I believe in 1992 it was still a Ford 351... Those engines SUCKED in trucks... omg were they boat anchors on wheels. I loe the body style, but HATE that engine. Look for a 300 ci straight 6!

I would go for the trade myself if I needed a truck that is. With a rebuilt engine, and the truck in good shape, what do you have to lose?
I would try to find out from the owner exactly what was done during the rebuild though so I would know exactly what's under the hood.

if you get a straight 6 by cyrsler or what ever it is....from what my dad says...those engines are pretty much indestructable..his friends had 400,000 miles no it when it died and the plug had nothing left to it...but they were probably some of the roughest miles any truck could have...just to show you how good a straight 6 is
