I have a 97 V6.

Right in front of the passenger side of the firewall is a cylinder type thing. It sits upright and is behind the general location of my cai. It's about 3/4 of a foot high and about as round as you could get your hands around.

After installing my cai, this thing rattles unbelievably making the most annyoing noise. I just want to know what it is before beginning to address the issue.

is there a tube about 1/2-3/4" around going into it?

Post a pic if you can, but it might be the A/C accumulator.

Is it the fuel vapor canister? I modified my intake on my 96 GT and the Canister purge valve went nuts against my fender well and I had to relocate it.
