i just want to know if they are both equally as good in terms of handling corners etc.. just because the nittos cost like 40 dollars less each tire so if the nittos are as good then ill be going with those... let me know what u guys think... and also give me some other good high performance tires that i havent mentioned , maybe ill look into them and theyll be cheaper... get back to me , thanks

I had the 555's for about a year and just switched to the BFG KDW's and there is no comparison between the 2. The BFG's outperform the 555's in the rain and dry without a question, not sure on the tread life of the BFG's though I bet they will be less then the 555's

I second that, I have the BFG's on the front and they have worn very well and are great in the rain.

The BFG's are made of a soft compound rubber that doesnt need to be heated to perform great. The Nitto's are made of a harder compound that does need to be heated therefore the Nitto's last a lot longer. So just regular driving on KDW's will wear them as fast as dragging with them. The Nitto's stay hard for the most part so they last a lot longer on the street.

The BFG's will out perform the Nitto's simply because its softer but the Nitto's on my car with the stock gears perform GREAT! I dont see myself paying $350 for tires such as the KDW's that will only last 8-10,000 miles or less depending on the track use.

EDIT: Im thinking drag radial here... not regular tires by the way.

There is a difference between the 555's and the 555R Drag Radials. Keep that in mind.

the KDW and 555 both are in the same class of tire, neither are drag radial , but both are high performance tires that may also be used in the rain.... the BFG KD's are the drag radials.... D- Dry W- wet..... KDW is for dry and wet while KD is just dry ... the KDWs only cost like 168 each and have a pretty good rep, but i saw the 555 extreme perf. nittos and they were cheaper so i jut decided to see which was better, i think ill be going with the KDW's

If you autocross your car, the BFG's are WAY better. Not even in the same universe.

Of what i've heard, BFG's offer much better performance. I'll be getting some KDW's once my current tires wear down. Anyone have them who could tell me how long they last? as far as miles or anything.
