Ideas to get a Mustang
OK I'm an 18 year old male with a 05 Accord and its boring but insurance is affordable...I want a mustang but I dont wanna pay $600 a month in insurance...I was wondering if it would be sensible to get a fox style mustang and put a new engine in...or should I get like a v6 04 ( I like the GTs) and do a v8 motor swap if possible...just throw in ideas...I really want a mustang but I cant afford these high insurance rates...I would get a 2003 Mercury Marauder because the insurance is actually lower than the Accord...but id rather have the Stang if possible

k heres the deal. untilmy 21st year with no accidents i was paying 200 a month... which HURTS. (i need a better job) but its ok cause i got my car with low miles for a decent price now im paying close to 135 a month give or take but thats with a v6 and ZERO accidents or tickets you get a ticket at your age and your premium will double
btw this is for full coverage from nationwide
btw im pretty sure by law you are required to tell your agent if you decided to swap your 6 banger to an 8 and then your premium would go up due to more power vroom vroom

im 19, its not as expensive as you think, if not you need to check your insurance parameters. My only advice is if you decide to get a mustang and want a v8, get one to start with as it is a PITA to convert a v6 to a v8. Fox, SN95 or new edge it doesnt matter. And I don't think there is a law requiring you to report a swap to the insurance company, but they won't pay shiat if you mess the car up...making the collision/comp thats jacking your premium up worthless.

If what you're saying is you're thinking about getting a V6 Stang and "sneakingin a V8" & assume the insurance will be cheaper, forget it. First of all get some quotes for V6 & V8 Stangs from the insurance guys BEFORE you buy a car. And second,, if you get into an accident & the insurance adjuster sees you swapped a bigger motor than you claim you have,, they're likely to cancel your policy

Your insurance probably won't be that high. I would not waste your time and $ trying to make a conversion. Find a decent GT or Cobra with somewhat low miles and go from there. It would actually cost you more to do the conversion if you think about it. Having to buy a motor, tranny, etc. and labor. IMO you are better off to buy the car with the V8 in it.
