8.8 in early fox body vs 7.5 strength????
OK guys I dont know a whole lot about fox body stangs so lets try and keep this flame free.My nephew has an 84 stang that we've put a mildly built 351w in (approx 450 hp) and now he wants to address the rearend with gears and spool but it has the 7.5 inch ford my question is what power levels can the 7.5 handle and how difficult is it to transplant a later 8.8 i.e is it a bolt in or ??? Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
He needs the most economic path ( dont we all) put your brains together and help a novice out thanks in advance.

Any 8.8 from a stang up to 98 will work and can be found cheap if you look. FWIW, axles in the 7.5 and 8.8 are interchangable. The 94-up axles are 5 lug and about 1/2 in longer due to the ABS.
