Default Brake Pads on New Car

How many miles should you get on front brakes of a new mustang before the first pad replacement? Most of the 22,000 miles are local not highway miles. 2005 Model.

My last set went pretty far. Could probably go 30k if youre not road racing with them. pull the wheels and check the pad thickness, how much material is left?
