no voltage to the fuel pump

I had just bought an 86 LX driving home and goin down the road it dies on me! Go to turn it over and don't hear the fuel pump like i did when i first started it. Checked today to see if the pump is good by puttin a 12V source to the lead off the inertia switch, pump came on. Traced all the way back and put a new relay for the pump in, nothing, but noticed that there was no 12V at the relay. Shouldn't there be 12V goin to one of the pins when the ignition switch is turned on?? and if so is there anybody out there thats had this problem of not getting the 12V at the relay and how did you fix it! If anybody can help me out i would be thankful!

RE: no voltage to the fuel pump

Check the inertia switch, kills the fuel pump in an accident.

RE: no voltage to the fuel pump

I actuall did pull the connection from the inertia switch and jumpered that out and hit the key and still had nothing. Is there a fuseable link somewhere in the fuel pump circuit???
