ttt

Hey guys,

I'm not talking about performance/special parts, just OEM Ford parts. Also, I'm not talking about 5% discount off of list price. I'm talking about Ford dealer cost + 5%. Here's an example from Flow Chevrolet (aka gmpartsdirect.com) in Winston Salem, NC or VanDevere Olds/Buick/Pontiac in Akron, OH:

Say I need an O2 sensor (part 25312184) for my 95 Impala SS.

Dealer List: $95.07
My Cost: $37.54

The cheapest I could even think about getting this part is from Autozone at $64.99. Advance and Napa are even higher and for O2 sensors, carry Bosch, which are not as good as original AC Delco. I know of 6-8 other dealerships across the US that will do this for GM. Are you all saying there are NO Ford dealers that will do this? If not, we should be cursing, screaming, and asking, "What the f*&%!!

I'm serious...try typing in a GM part number on gmpartsdirect.com and get a list price versus your cost on the web site and see what a good deal it is. You can verify if the 'list price' is true or not by calling another GM dealer. I think the reason some of these dealers can do so much on the discount is that they're volume is so high with respect to parts. At least that's what Flow Chevrolet (aka gmpartdirect.com) told me.

Is there really no Ford dealer that will help us do the same thing for our Fords? Since many purists will only buy Motorcraft/Ford OEM for their car, I can't believe anyone could tolerate paying list prices for parts at dealers.
