Anyone know what kind of car this is...

RE: Anyone know what kind of car this is...
Ferrarri's are nice, but I've never driven one, so I can't really say it's worth the money. From my previous knowledge, the whole body is made of lightweight material, and it has uber suspension, and obviously engine. But, you could probably upgrade a cheaper car to those specifications for cheaper--
But, you're buying the name with a Ferrari.
[BTW-- The original picture was a regular F430. The Spider has a soft-top... unless that car did have a soft-top. *shrug*]
It's definetly a Ferrarri, though./

It's either an F430 or a 360 Modena, if it's older. Same body, the primary difference is drivetrain. Ferrari upgraded the 360(designated as such for the 3.6L V8)from 375hp to the 480hp 430(4.3L V8)in order to keep up in performance with the Z06 when Chevy went to the LS7(I like the fact that an American manufacturer forced Ferrari to respond with a bigger powerplant in order to remain competitive). As far as what you pay for, in a way they are worth the money. The entire car is basically hand crafted, with the exception of some of the chassis. Hand stitched custom leather interior, hand built engine, the quality of everything is outrageous. They perform extremely well in every aspect when the car's on. But that's the problem. 480hp out of a 4.3L n/a V8 at like 8,400rpm tends to not be the most reliabile of powerplants. They are very light, lots of aluminum and carbon fiber, but like all Ferraris are notorious for maintenence issues and problems. Also, I think the cost of a single oil change every 2,000mi or soin that car is like $3,000(not as bad as the Enzo's $12,000 though). For sheer performance though, you could go buy a new LS7 Z06, rebuild the engine and run a turbo setup with uber power, beef the suspension and have something that still for half the money of the 430 will utterly annhilate it in every aspect of performance. Ferraris do however look great and sound incredible(but that is partly because of the single plane crankshaft design and the rpm they turn).

They do look and sound amazing. I went to Maranello, Italy (where the ferrari plant is located) a few summers ago right when the f430 had just come out and they were running around the streets a lot. Here are a few pics of ones I saw driving around
