need help on removing center radio bezel on a new edge
i have a 2001 mustang with the 460 6 cd changer stereo. i'm trying to remove the center trim around the radio. i first removed the shifter **** and loosened the shifter bezel, but it is connected by the cigarette lighter cable. i then got the radio bezel loose but it is also connected by the cables for the traction control/rear defroster/fog light buttons. can someone tell me how to safely disconnect these cables? my haynes repair manual doesn't give any info on this and i couldn't find anything searchign online. thanks a lot!

should be flat release . on the top side of the conections you squeeze the plug and pull apart. its been a while, let me look thru my pics from the last time i took one apart and i will update you

It never hurts to disconnect the negative battery cable when doing anything electrical related with your car. But in the case of disconnecting those switch harnesses you really don't need to, as the cable ends are still insulated. After they're removed there still isn't any exposed wire.
