I had my 4.10's put in yesterday at a local shop that completely charged me up the cornhole but they were the only place in town that i knew of. Anyways, i paid $481 for just labor, tax, and fluids. So im driving down the highway last night and i look down only to see im doin 100mph. I realized that there was no way i was going that fast and that the shop didnt recalibrate my speedometer. I cant believe it, almost $500 just for install and here they dont even do everything they're supposed to do. Or am i mistaken?? Do not all speed shops do that as part of a gear install?? Should i call them back and make them do it for free or what?

I highly doubt "speedo recalibration" would be a job the shop would normally do automatically when swapping gears. Depending on what car/year you have you need to either get a corrected speedo drivegear in the tranny or use a handheld tuner

man that sucks, thats alot of cash for not even fixing your speedo..a shop near me charges about $600 for everything...wen i called them, they didnt mention anything about the speedo but i remembered to ask them about it and they said they would fix the speedo drive gear, but i had to say something 1st b/c otherwise they wouldnt have done it...it sucks
