loss of power?

loss of power?
Maybe its just me or the heat. I dont know. The other day I had flowmasters put on and 4 of the 6 cats taken off. I have 1 cat. on each side right after the exuast manifold and then straight pipes in place of the other cats directly to flowmasters then out. Now just seems like there is no power of the start. I slam gas and does not even spin wheels really any more. It is 100 degress outside. I was wondering if it could be tires or something or maybe I just not going to floor of the start. I just thought taking the cats of will help on power. and leaving 2 on until i get x pipe. Please Help.

RE: loss of power?
The high temperatures coupled with high humidity definately lower HP numbers. My 04 GT will easily break the tires loose in first gear just by tromping the gas without doing anything with the clutch when it's cooler outside but in this heat (85-90*+) it don't break anything loose.
Don't panic yet, wait until the temps go down and see what happens.

RE: loss of power?
I would guess it is just the heat, my catted H-pipe provided a nice power increase over the stock SN95 one, and the car already had Flowmasters on it. Airflow mods can cause the loss of some low end, but not enough to spin/not spin the tires. When you go WOT in first gear, you going to be in your mid-range before you know it, so even with a slight loss of torque pre-3K, it would spin them. Tires pressure? Everything else- fuel, air filters, etc? It's probably jus the heat.

RE: loss of power?
When it gets hot out my 93 can be the same way, loss of power, but nothing major. Heat kills hp, thats one reason racers toss a few bags of ice onto the intake between passes. If you havent already get some new gears. They wont add any hp but theyll help get some of that acceleration back.
The hotter it gets the less performance youll have.

RE: loss of power?
Personal Peferance: No higher than 3.73 on a DD that sees hwy/open roads.
Auto or Manuel? Most people say 3.73 for a 5speed and 4.10 for an auto, but 3.73 is going to be a nice improvement over the stock(2.73 or 3.08)regardless of the trans.
