Default Kenny Belle Kenny Belle Kenny Belle

Whats with suddenly everyone on this forum drooling over KB all of a sudden. You never heard about it and one guy with a GT comes on and posts a dyno (impressive I admit, but not that crazy) and suddenly everyone wants a KB?

I still say that in a straightup dragrace (espcially from a stop) a centrifugal is gonna win every time (on otherwise identical cars).

So whats up?

um everyones been liking kenne bell since the beginning of time...

and centrifugal is not going to win every time. it may peak higher, but you have to look at powerband. even if the cent. is pulling harder up top, the kb will probably be pulling way harder down low so the centrifugal will still be behind.

If people have enough money to own a KB, they have enough for TT's, so KB can lick my a$$!!

that is true, but to clarify it is on the 4.6L modular.

One turbo, one big stall, one bullet proof rear, one pair of slicks...that's enough to make mostly anything fast.

The reason most people prefer a KB is because it rules on the street where most people are in the low RPM range. A centrifugal cannot match the low end output of a KB. Driving around town and some punk pulls up next to you and wants to go, mash the pedal with a KB and the power is instant, instead of having to wait for peak output until the engine is wound out.

I disagree. If you look at the HP and TQ curves in the powerband THAT YOU SHIFT IN, aka the band between about 4800~ to redline, the centrifugal is generally out performing the KB. I could frankly care less if you make 1000 Ft/lbs of TQ at 2500 RPM, cause your never going to see that RPM in a race.

the centrifugal vs twin screw vs turbo debate could go all day long. bottom line, any of the above could stomp either you or i, so what does it really matter?

All I have to say is Kenne Bell! Sure twin turbos give you alot of hp but they might take a while to start up. Besides what other supercharger will give you 700+ hp on a cobra... Thank you. When I supercharge my GT it will surely be a Kenne Bell.
