should i buy this mustang?
I have the opportunity to buy a 1995 gt coupe from my work for $3600. It has 101k miles and there is minor oxidation on the front bumper. When the mechanic put it on the lift there was minor oil leaking from what he said was the oil feed line area. It's not dripping or anything so it's not leaking too bad. I checked the dipstick and it was even with the full line and he also said the shocks were worn. Also, at idle there seems to be a faint whine coming from the rear of the car, it's coming from around the gas tank area, does anyone know what this could be? Other than these problems the engine sounds healthy and it runs and drives strong.

I don't know much about'95 mustangs, but ford trucks seem to start breaking minor things between 100 and 130 thousand miles. (starters, fuel pumps, alternators, wheel bearings, etc.) It might be one of those cars that nickel and dimes you out of all your money.

Did you ask the mechanic about his opinion about the purchase? Would he buy it?
I took the car that I currently own to a dealer to have them check it out before purchasing. I checked to see what the car is worth by checking Kelly Blue book or N.A.D.A. If it's a really good price and too good to pass up then buy it. It just depends on what you want out of the car you are looking for.
Mustangs are showing up everywhere for sale. How bad is the oxidation and then look into a new paint job. I wouldn't want a car with a bad paint. It's your choice.
