Default Is there ways around a tune? Theres gotta be

First, I ran a search and could not find what I was looking for so sorry if this is a repeated question. I want to know is there ways around a tune or if it is really necessary. First off in the near future will be doing the Heads, intake, cam, flux capaciter,CAI, headers, 24lbers,etc. add ons for my 89 GT 5.0. Is a tune needed for these thing. I am very knowledgeable in"old school" mechanics. I have done plenty plenty of it. When it comes to the computer stuff that is where I am thrown off. I just would like to know if there are little tricks you guys know of atcutting some corners, orif some stuff is needed the cheaper side of it. I don't want cheap quality just do not want to buy uneeded stuff. Thanks---

You can mess with fuel pressure and timing but nothing is going to compare to actually getting it dyno tuned. Some people add parts like that and everything runs fine and others(like me) have major drivability problems unless they get it tuned. Since it doesnt sound like your doing anything too radical i would just start it up and drive it around and see how it does, no WOT. If you have problems i would get it tuned, if not i would at least think aboutpaying for one dyno run with air/fuel to make sure your not going lean

I guess my biggest problem is the nearest tuner is over 100 miles from me.

that wasnt a joke was it?

anyways, you dont have to get a tube but after h/c/i you can and mostly will gain about 20hp from a custom tune. not to mention the drivability will be better

of course it was a joke. Basically I should not over react and put the goodies on and then see.
