Ignition Problems
Hey yall ive had a problem with my pony for a while now. When I got back from deployment from South America I got into my car and it wouldnt crank.I figured it would have been the battery so I charged it up and still the same thing. WhenI tried to crank the car the car will turn over but it goes dead ASAP. I thought it might have been a fuel problem butI drained all the gas and changed the fuel pump and filter along with the fuel pressure regulator. After that didnt work I fugured it might have been a spark problem soI changed the plugs and wires. Once again I hit the wall. Once that failed I thought Fuel, Spark, and Air is need to start a car soI changed my Mass Air Flow sensor and still nothing. I also went ahead and changed my IAC sensor along with Igition Coil. Now I am in the exact same place I was before but now I have all new parts under the hood. I am lost for ideas and what the problem could be. The car wants to crank but it wont stay cranked. Any help would be greatly praised.

RE: Ignition Problems
Whow... That's alot of parts. Check the battery voltage after a charge, and then after you try to start. It sounds like a bad battery, or a bad connection. Hold off on anymore new parts for now.

RE: Ignition Problems
Sounds like the power to the ignition system isn't staying after the key is set back the the 'run' position. Check the system to make sure you have power to the ignition system with the key in the 'run' position. May be a bad switch.

Ok since this is the 3rd section I have seen this question posted in. Here's an FYI for ya from our rules section
4. Double posting is not allowed and can result in the deletion of one or both posts. Double posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more separate forums. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum. Please try to pick the best one. In addition, please do not post in the same thread back to back (another version of double posting), if you have something more to add, edit your post, don't post twice in a row in a thread.
The reason for this is so members do not clog the forum w/ identical threads throughout the various sections of the forum.
Thanks and good luck w/ your car.

RE: Ignition Problems
yeah ive already changed my ignition switch because when i first got my car and had it for like 3 months it stuck in the crank position so it was like i was trying to start the car even when it was cranked. When i did change it the wires that hooked into the ignition switch looked kinda bad so i might want to change out those wires and see if i get the same response.
