Default I've done everthing possible for this tranny....

I have an 02 GT Auto AODe tranny. One of my main grips is that it doesn't drop into passing gear everytime I hit it. Granted my Stang is supercharged and it still rambles with out the drop, but when it does drop down, my gosh, does she ever fly. I'd go from 60 to 140 in a flash. I recently had a 10" 2600 rpm stall torque converter installed, along with a wide ratio gear planitary set (2:84-1), shift kit, valve body modification and a 160 degree cooler installed for $2300. The tranny still doesn't drop into passing gear every time (it will 7 of 10 times). Other than that, the tranny performs very well with strong hard shifts and fabulous launches. I've gained .62 second in the quarter after I installed an Auburn limited slip differential in the rear.

Can some one tell me what needs to be done to the tranny for it to drop into passing gear every time I ask her to?

What a sweet ride. Ever get tired of hearing that one?? I know I wouldn't. Have you tried any of the automatic trans shops that specialize in racing auto's ?? My last pro-street ran an automatic from COAN racing in Kokomo Indiana. They are nationally known and respected. Try calling a few of these type shops for info. Hopefully someone will know how to make that trans behave !!

really cool to read the spec's on your ride !! Best of luck !!

Yeah, I recently had the tranny completely revamped. They can tell the tranny how to shift, but they cannot tell it WHEN to shift. I just found out the in order to do that, Ford's program in the computer has to be re flashed with another program. I am working on finding that program now.
