Default Auto Faster? Stick faster?

You have 2 identical stock cars built in the last 10 years except one is Auto and I one is stick...Once again let me reittarate Identical. Both cars are functioning as they should. Which car is faster in the 1/4 mile? I think the answer is obvious lets see what everyone else thinks........

Heck NO...First off my car is stick. Just because its more fun to drive. No one will shift better than the computer. I dont care how good someone thinks they can drive the computer wins. If you take a look at a Dino sheet someone good at shifting will loose 90 percent of HP at the rear tire. An auto will loose less than 40 between gears. I think the answer is obvious...

...?
A built auto will be faster in the 1/4 of course.
But the power loss from the stock auto really puts it down from the factory.
Whatcha smok'n there?

Thats not the point at all. It doesn't matter much how fast you shift. It's when you shift that make s alarge difference. you can control the shift points in a stick. You also have less loss from the tranny and no converter slip. The stick will win out. They always do. Consistncy is only a factor if you can't drive. If you can pull the same RT's and 60 foots in a stick you will be consistent.

Yes, I'm saying the Auto makes less power than a manual car.

The power loss to the rear tires between shifts clearly makes up for any loss in the xmission.

No it clearly does not.

But why ask a question that you have already desided the answer?
