not all lifters are pumping oil
Hey guys, i had the valve covers off last night trying to find the clicking noise and i noticed that 6 of my lifters were not spitting oil, is there something I can get to spray to the hole to unclogg them or something? I dont want to tear the top end all apart.

you could have a bigger problem than you think if no oil is getting to the rocker arms. did you rev the engine a little with the valve cover off to see if this made oil come out of all the lifters??? if not, I would do this first and see if this makes the oil come out of the 6 you said were not spitting any oil. if they still don't flow any oil, then remove the rocker arms and pull the push rods out and see if they are clogged up with sludge or debris of some sort. after cleaning them out, reinstall the rockers and see if they flow oil now. if they still don't flow oil, then you must have some plugged oil passageways at the lifters or in the lifters themselves. one old trick is to drain out some oil and add 1 quart of transmission fluid to the oil and run the engine for a while to see if the detergents in the tranny oil will clean out the sludge plugging up the lifters. then drain the oil and replace with some fresh oil.
