My battery keeps dying and I don't know why...please help
Yeah, so my battery has been dying if I don't drive it around every day. I don't know what the problem is because I replaced the battery, then I replaced the alternator and its still dying, so now I don't know what else is running off my battery. Now i do have underdrive pulleys, and ive heard that they can sometimes not recharge your battery enough but ive had them for about a year now, and ive never had a problem with my battery. Please respond if you have anything that would help. Thanks.

One easy way to check the charging system is the check the battery voltage with a meter, with the engine off. It should be around 12.5vDC Then start the car and check the voltage, It should be around 14vDC
If youthink that the battery is good, Then you need to isolate the source of the drain.Set the meter to the ampsmode. Disconnect the negitive battery cable, and place the meter in series with the battery. Then start to pull the fuses 1 at a time. If the drain is going though a fuse you will see the drop in current. Then you can trace to the source.

I had a similar issue in my 94 vert and took out the underdrive pulleys and it was fine.

If you have a filler battery, one easy fix that people forget about sometimes is to check the water level in your battery. Sometimes you can add a little bit in the filler holes, and it helps the electrolytic cell recharge. Water is polar, that's why this works. If that doesn't work, the next plan of action is to do what 99_GT said. We did that for my dad's truck one time and we were able to fix it

I was having the same prob. until I started turning off the radio when I kill the car off and I haven't had the problem since. I thought this was just my car and stereo but from Mimi's suggestion it sounds like this is common.
