hey guys income tax time rolling around...i can not decide if i wanna fully build my motor which means...typhoon intake,throwtal body,patrtoit stage three heads and cams, and a cobra rotating assembly.... with the gas that i have...... or just wait and shop around on e-bay for a cobra motor.. the only thing that sucks about that is i would have to change my hood and long tube headers i all ready have.... what u guys think....ill be running gas on either one..

I seen alot of nice parts on ebay. I am guessing a complete rebuild with forged pistons, higher compression, cam, scat crank and some lightweight forged rods, and some flowing heads and intake is gunna cost some money, but a good combination of the right parts is what makes horsepower. I would guess that the expense is marginal between a custom build and a crate engine, but the crate is a quick exchange, while the build often takes weeks to complete. (Unless you can trade your old block for one that is already ready fully machined and ready to go.)
I build my own stuff so I can build a 650 horse chevy 454 big block for much less than a 500 horse crate 502 big block, so it's just a matter of decision in your case unless you are gunna do the work yourself.

plus its already got a blower on it, already built to handle the boost.
