Default LOWERING MY 04 GT

i want to lower my 04 stang. leaning towards eibach prokit. i dont want to scrape everywhere i go so a 1.5" drop would suit me fine. i hear that i would have to replace cc plates and get a bump steer kit atop an alingment, is this true, i am looking at about $600 if iinstall it myself, any ideas or pointers?

with the prokit all you need is thesprings and the realization that your car won't look a whole lot different than it does now.

does anyone have regrets about getting springs with a 2" drop? i just do not want to drop the car too low.

Read this link.

There's also an article about Steeda's X2 balljoints in this month's MM&FF.

I love my H&R SuperSports, they are awesome springs. My car is probably dropped between 1.8 and 2" in the front right now and i still want it lower.

With any lowering springs I'd suggest the basics to start, springs, struts/shocks, and caster/camber plates. After the springs settle get the car aligned.

The pro-kit will get rid of the 4x4 look, but it won't make your car look "dropped." It gives a great stance. Just remember, the lower you go, the more work and parts will be required/recommended (eg: adjustable upper control arms, lowering shocks/struts, caster/camber plates, and such).

THE STANCE ON YOUR CAR LOOK GREAT DO YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS OR SCRAPING?

I dropped my 04 1.5" with a set of Tein h-techs.
I did not need c/c plates or a bumpsteer kit afterward.

No need for a realignment either unless you do swap your c/c plates (or unless your car needs one anyway).

I changed my struts and rear shocks at the same time and the car still drives straight. Monitored the tread wear every week after for a couple of months and the tires aren't wearing abnormally.

Good Luck
