Default How to measure hood raise

Hey guys,

I just got a ram air hood on Ebay for a friend of mine and the seller said it was 2.5" raise but it looks nothing like the cool aggressive hoods on the cervini website. The seller swears it is a 2.5" raise but he is putting the hood in the floor and measuring from the floor to the top of the hood. Isn't it suposed to be the raise from the hood to the top of the raised part?

I hope I am explaining myself correctly. all I know is the hood looks weak and I think we got ripped off!!!

I always assumed the raise was measured from the top of the plane of the hood beside the raised area to the top of the raised section but I'm not an expert by any means on this subject.
