Default 70 model 351w heads on 302 valve adjustment

Does anyone know the proper way to adjust the valves on my 84 model 302 with 70 model 351w heads. I have the motorsport pushrods for this swap

Default RE: 70 model 351w heads on 302 valve adjustment

assuming that you have hydraulic lifters and adjustable rocker arms, this is what to do.
install the pushrod into the lifter and rocker arm pockets and just snug the rocker arm nut down enough so the pushrod can't fall out of the rocker arm. hand crank the engine over while watching the valves on that cylinder and when the intake valve closes, stop cranking. this will put that cylinder on the compression stroke with both valves on the base circle of the cam. loosen the rocker arm nut so you can twist the pushrod with your fingers, then slowly tighten the nut until you just can't twist the pushrod anymore. then tighten up the nut an additional 1/4 to 1/2 full turn and stop. then do the same thing on the other valve for that cylinder. move on to the next cylinder and hand crank the engine until that one has both valves closed and repeat this procedure until you have adjusted all the rocker arms this way.
