The other day I misjudged how much oil was in my car and I was running with only 2 quarts in the car. I thought it wasnt burning oil anymore, when it still was, and I dont think my low oil thing was working correctly. How bad is this? The engine still runs fine. I was planning to do H/C/I on this block pretty soon, and Im wondering if its still a good candidate for 300rwhp.

how long did you drive it with low oil. you know its not good for it, it allows the bearings to ruin themselves and overheat.

Did you show any oil pressure, how much?

Same thing happened to me the other day. The oil dip stick is very unreliable. sometimes there is none on the stick sometimes there is a long streak...I guess if your oil guage was somewhere in middle it was not yet harming the motor. I just dumped a whole quart of castrol high milage in and now everything seems peachy

I never noticed anyhting odd about the oil pressure, so I guess I was okay.

yea that was bad thing to do. actually running motors with some oil missing is actually a good thing but dont recomend it. hopefully in your case nothing is wrong

Yeah Ill definitally check my oil more often after that one. Whens the best time to check it to get the most accurate reading?
