well the last few weeks ive been hearing this horrible sound coming from the right side of my car. at first i thought it was an exhaust leak but when all the bolts were tight, i gave up on that idea and just assumed my rockers came loose. ive been babying my car around afraid to damage it. well i crawled under my car to check my smog pump line which i thought had come loose (its tied up cause i have a catless h-pipe now but will need to put cats in later for smog). so anyways, i saw the pipe was still tight up....all good. then i notice the part on the h-pipe where that smog pipe is supposed to be. it was wide open!! the plug that was in there fell out. it then hit me...EXHAUST LEAK! i ran to my mig welder and pulled it out. filled the 3/4" hole with flux, fired it up......all the weird noises are gone! i reved it and was blown away. that leak had been there so long that i forgot my car got that loud. man i blew me away. now im super excited about the track on sunday. all this agony for weeks was cause by a f*cking 3/4" hole in my exhaust.

i didnt reset the ecu, you think i should? its not really a mod

Glad it was an exhaust leak. I am always listening for ticking or knocking sounds from exhaust or motor.

where are you at that you can run without cats ?

we have to have them here in Michigan.
