Default A typical saturday in the andysm garage.

This saturday I called autozone and asked if they had the dupli color caliper paint. They did for $16.99, what a deal, the same price as ebay, and I save $8 dollars shipping. So here are some pics of the evening.

Put the stang on stands and covered the rotors with nespaper. The originals are not terrible, but are alot less than desired.

After two coats here is the result.

While I had the wheels off, I might as well brake out the brillo's. Before:

After:

Side by side:

Can't wait until next Saturday, I have a JLT CAI in route from American Muscle. Kind of lame post I know, but hey this is a forum and that is what forums are all about. Feedback about the pic sizes would be appreciated. I sized them on photobucket. The size is called message board but they seem large to me. They have smaller sizes if that is better.

I like the pic size because some of the smaller ones I can't really see some of the things trying to be shown.

Yes I used brillo pads to get the gook off. I am in the middle of the spring clean up of my GT. Last week I detailed and waxed it. This week I washed, painted the calipers, and scrubbed the inside of the rims with brillo, and rotated the tires.

Cool! Show us pics of it all back together. I am about to do the same thing to my 08 but with Red Paint.

Just for an update, I had 3/4 can of caliper paint left after two coats on all 4 calipers. I sealed it tight and plan on doing it again in the fall when I wax , and rotate again. If the paint dosn't holp up I let you guys know. As for the kit, the brush supplied with the kit sucks, I ended up at Walmart and found a 25 pc craft brush set for $4.99. They had exacto knives right next to it so I grabbed one of those, (damn walmart, can't run in there and grab one thing without seeing stuff to waste your money on). The caliper cleaner included was great. Reminded me of M.E.K.

I have a mineral grey GT, with black tint and vinal letters so I went with black on the caliper paint. I now think that red might have been better because with the wheels on it looks kinda stock.

Before the calipe paint on the front:

Front after the caliper paint.

I have no before assembled of the rear so I will only post afters:

I am sorry I couldn't get better lighting, but as I said it is raining today. And please excuse my 4x4 suspension, I do plan on dropping it in the next couple months. As you can see, this was a good detail, but red or yellow, or blue would have popped more. This black looks stock.I hope you have enjoyed.

it does look kinda stock, but it looks a lot better than it used to.

some lowering springs will lose the 4X4 look. [8D]
