Turbo V6 or 5.0 V8?

Turbo V6 or 5.0 V8?
So, a friend of mine recently purchased a brand new mustang. I'm not huge into cars but i could easily tell it was a V6 before he even got into my driveway. I was amazed, i didn't even think they would disgrace the american muscle image of a ride as badass as mustang, by creating one that came stock with a V6 (again, i don't know much about cars)
So, i asked him how he planned to fix it seeing as how he was going to get wasted by camaros off the line and he said for around $2800 he could get some super turbo charger thing that would make his car faster than a V8. I tried searching around the net but couldn't find a decent comparison between turbo charged V6s and stock V8s.
Does anyone here know the specs on the two or have a link at all? I'm just trying to see the numbers, not peoples opinions.

RE: Turbo V6 or 5.0 V8?
the brand new mustang has a 4.6 v8 in it, not the 5.0 for the v8 option. He could have gotten a GT if he wanted a v8 but he probably did not want a v8 so he doesnt have to worry abvoiut getting roasted by camaros, because he dint choose the performance version of the mustang, he chose the base model....which is fine

And just FYI-- the 3.8L v6 is one hell of an engine-- some people here have some seriously sick stangs, and they're 6 bangers.

RE: Turbo V6 or 5.0 V8?
2800 might get him some superheads and beef up his power but he needs to do more to his engine to make it run fast. I suggest checking out www.SuperSixMotorsports.com and looking at their 400+hp NA V6 cars.
I got an estimate for about $6500 on an engine that when a power additive was added could make 700hp reliably, AKA a TT setup for me. But I didnt have $6500 and then another $1500 for a TKO600 and another $500 for a 8.8" rear and another $250 for a custome driveshaft and another $350 for a Ram clutch and another $400 for exhaust and another $350 for a chip and another $500 for cooling and another $250 for fuel pumps and accs and another well there is alot to spend to make a reliable 700RWHP V6 stang.
Trust me, V6 engine are not to be screwed with, anyone that knows how to build anything and has faith in other internal combustion engine aside from V8's can make them run.
I decided that I would go with a 2003 Mach1 4.6 rated at 305hp, the one I got is rated at 320 and will have several bolt ons and will be pushing a respectable 400rwhp. I dropped $3100 into the engine, trans and full swap, 500 into cooling, $250 into a custom drive shaft and $500 for the 8.8" rear with 3.73 gears. Thats all I really need to drop into it right now to make it run great, I will be upgraded my suspension with my next few checks which will be $800 for the front and 500 for the rear, then my brakes which will be like a grand more.
I will have the perfect sleeper and it will still appear as a V6 to everyone because Im not changing much for looks. I went with the V8 because it was by far ALOT cheaper, has that awesome V8 tone and for the fact that there arent many 95' Mach1 conversions
If you have the money then be different and do the V6 build, but if your on a budget and want easy power then get an 8, but you can still be an individual and make it a Boss302 with some 4V cleveland heads or a Clevor on a 351W.
Anyways its late, im out.
