It depends on your local laws. I know here in Southern California, its ticketable to have tinted headlights, but tails are ok. My buddy is a Sheriff, he says it really depends on the cop, but its best to stay away, here at least. Look up vehicle code in your area

ya i have the smoked cobras, bought them from 50resto, never had any issues from cops and ive driven by state, county, and my town cops never say anything..and i think what the guy above was gettin at is that the lights on the new edges after 01 had a smoked looking light..so if they had them from the factory then they cant be illegal...but yes the night time visibility did go down..i live in the country so i had to get somethin to fix it..i bought the HID kit from a place on ebay and once i put those in and aimed correctly its better than it was with the stock lighting..i love it and can see so much clearer country, town, city driving all alike..
